Clubs devoted to being DREAM MAKERS
Corvettes of Lancaster
| Formed
32 years ago primarily as a social group with a common interest-- a love
for Corvette--the Corvettes
of Lancaster has grown into one of Central
Ohio's most active service clubs. In 2004 it
celebrated 32 years of service to the
community. Through the years the members matured and membership in the National Council of Corvettes occurred in 1976-77. Many members participated in competitive racing at that time. The members donate much of their time to driving in parades, chauffeuring local queens, displaying their cars at classic shows, organizing summer Saturday night cruises and coordinating efforts with local clubs to present the annual Earth Angel Super Cruise-In. Only two charter members remain, but the enthusiasm of the first group remains, and members are truly proud to be a part of the Corvettes of Lancaster and The Corvette Movement. Lancaster Old Car Club
|
|
In 1954 a group of old car enthusiasts began meeting monthly and by 1957
thirty four members signed a charter for the formation of the "Lancaster
Old Club whose object was to further and continue both the interest in
and restoration of antique automobiles to encourage the preservation of
the antique auto in a historical sense." In 1964 the 1st Annual Spring Festival was held at the West School playground with food furnished by the members. The 2nd Annual Festival was held in the Fairfield County Fairgrounds and included the Hocking Valley Steam and Power Club. This set the format for all the following festivals with updates in the food facilities, flea markets of over 500 spaces, added a very popular cruise in and have over 500 cars registered for the car show. The club built a 30' filling station museum in 1979 and donated it to the Fairfield County Agricultural Society. Donations of car memorabilia is still appreciated. The food booth and all other festival jobs are handled by our 80-plus members, their spouses, friends, relatives and neighbors. The income from the Spring Festival puts on the two-day show and makes it possible to contribute to several local charities and fund two scholarships annually. The members still find time for monthly meetings, shows, cruise ins, picnics, carry ins and our annual Halloween Party and Leaf Tour. The season and the year ends with the annual Christmas Party and Awards Banquet for the people who help make the club and the Spring Festival a big success. WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN US? |
River Valley Rods & Customs
| The River Valley Rods & Customs Car Club of
Lancaster was formed in 1988. We are a
non-profit organization with all proceeds going to
charity. We have made donations to the March of
Dimes, United Cerebral Palsy, Toys for Tots, Earth
Angel Foundation, and many needy families. We have
helped raise money to purchase a wheelchair lift
equipped van for a victim of Cerebral Palsy. We
support a family at Christmas, and have raised money
for accident victims to help pay medical
bills. At our cruise-ins we sell chances to win door prizes that are donated by community businesses and private donors. All proceeds go to charity. As old car club enthusiasts we attend cruise-ins and car shows in Ohio and surrounding states. These functions are also for charity. With your donations, we can provide support and entertainment for our community. If you have any questions, please call Lowell Bixler (president) at 653-6488. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at our cruise-ins. |

New Life Cruisers was started in 1999 with four
members-Larry & Donna Sinift and Dan & Arlene
Taylor, and now Cheryl Hasson. It began as a group of
friends who enjoyed classic cars, street rods and
cruise-ins. The first car show we attempted was a cruise-in at our church as a fund raiser for the music department. The cars were judged by choir members. We also co-hosted a benefit called Cruisin' for Ricky with several clubs at our church. We have supported the Earth Angel Foundation for several years. This is our sixth year helping at the Super Cruise-In events. We have friends who have benefited from this great Foundation. Thanks for putting smiles on so many faces. Keep up the good work! |
